Jordan Butcher

I am an assistant professor of Political Science at Arkansas State University, I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Missouri where my research centered on legislative term limits.

I study legislative politics with a focus on state government. Specifically, my work evaluates the intersection of institutional rules and member careers. My research on political careers is currently centered on evaluating legislative turnover and its causes and consequences across the 50 states.

Currently, I serve as the University's Coordinator of our Washington Center Partnership where I have the privilege of leading students on trips to Washington D.C., as well as overseeing student internships.

I love to connect with scholars and students so feel free to reach out.
